From the hardest streets to the depths of Torah
Rabbi Julian Amar grew up in one of the toughest, crime-ridden neighborhoods in the United States. It was a place where few people expected a spiritual life to begin. His did.
From a very young age, Julian carried knowledge he could not explain. Long before anyone taught him, he understood ideas from Kabbalah and Jewish tradition: the hidden structure of the world, the meaning behind the letters, the sense that every soul has a purpose. Around him there was noise and danger. Inside him there was a quiet voice that kept pointing toward something higher.
For years that knowledge had no name and no home. Everything changed when he met the Jewish community in Brooklyn. There, in the study halls and around Shabbat tables, he found the words, the teachers and the tradition that matched what he had always felt. What had lived inside him since childhood finally took shape.
Today Rabbi Amar teaches Torah, Jewish faith and the inner wisdom of Kabbalah with a voice shaped by both worlds: the street and the study hall. He speaks to people who feel far away, and shows them that the spark is already inside them.
The spark is already inside you. It is waiting to be found.
